Visneo: a multi-agent operating system for independent grocery

Visneo is a roster of AI agents, plus a conversational assistant, V, that runs the day-to-day of an independent grocery operator: inventory, books, compliance, approvals, and cash. It began as an internal build for a group of grocery stores backed by ModVedi, an investment firm for the software that runs the physical world. TechBrig came on as the technical partner to productionize that internal tool into a live SaaS, web and mobile, that operators run their stores on.

Background

Born on the floor of a real grocery operation

Visneo started as an internal project. ModVedi, an investment firm that backs the software running physical-world industries, needed a better way to run a group of independent grocery stores. Inventory, POS, bookkeeping, tax and license deadlines, vendor approvals, cash: dozens of SKUs, systems, and decisions per store, per day, spread across tools that didn't talk to each other.

What began as internal tooling to take that load off store managers worked well enough that it deserved to be a product. TechBrig joined as the technical partner to productionize it, turning an internal build into Visneo: a live, multi-tenant SaaS, on web and mobile, that any independent grocery operator can run their stores on.

The challenges

Running a store is a hundred small decisions a day

01

Fragmented systems, no source of truth

POS, accounting, banking, and vendor tools each lived in their own silo. Nobody had a single, current picture of a store, let alone the whole group.

02

Books & compliance done by hand

Daily POS reconciliation, month-end close, sales-tax filings, and license renewals were tracked manually: slow, and far too easy to miss.

03

Approvals stuck on one person

Every expense, refund, and write-off waited on an owner who wasn't on-site, with no context, no priority, and no audit trail.

04

An internal script had to become a product

Making it real meant multi-tenancy, roles and permissions, live data, a mobile app, and the reliability a business would actually trust.

Our solution

One live data layer, a roster of agents, and an assistant that does the work

We rebuilt the internal tool into a real platform around a single idea: pull every store's data into one live layer, let specialized agents act on it, and put a plain-language assistant on top. Owners stop stitching tools together and start asking questions and approving decisions.

How it fits together

POS, accounting, and banking flow into one reconciled record per store. A roster of agents works that data continuously, and everything surfaces through the assistant, the dashboard, approvals, and the compliance calendar.

Meet V: an assistant over live store data

V is the conversational layer over everything Visneo knows. Ask for cash position, revenue vs. last week, alerts, or approvals and it answers with live, interactive cards, and can hand off into the right screen. It reads real dashboard data, with a clear reminder to verify before approving high-value actions.

A roster of agents, on a plan they can grow into

Each domain of the store gets its own agent: Store Operations, Finance & Compliance, Accounting, Inventory, and more, packaged across tiers from Starter to Enterprise. Operators see what's available, what's active, how many automations are running, and how healthy they are, then activate agents as they grow.

Approvals that route themselves

An expense router auto-classifies every request by amount, category, and store, runs vendor and budget checks against trailing spend, assigns a priority and an SLA, and routes it for a decision. The owner sees full context and approves or denies from anywhere, with a note captured for the audit trail.

An approval, ready to decide: amount, SLA, store, and an auto-generated context summary, with a one-tap approve/deny and audit note.

Books that close themselves

Daily POS syncs post straight to the ledger, transactions reconcile automatically, and a guided month-end close tracks every step. Owners (and their bookkeeper) get a live financial and cash snapshot, including net income, margin, AR/AP, and runway, without touching a spreadsheet.

Compliance on autopilot

Tax filings, insurance renewals, food-handler certs, and license deadlines are tracked automatically and laid out on a calendar, so nothing slips. The Finance & Compliance agent watches the dates and raises them before they become a problem.

Plugs into the tools stores already run

Visneo doesn't ask operators to rip anything out. It connects to Square for POS, QuickBooks for the books, banking for balances and transactions, and Stripe for billing, reconciling it all into one live record per store.

Web and mobile, the store in your pocket

Owners aren't at a desk, so Visneo ships as both a web app and a native mobile app on the same live data. The morning briefing, store health, approvals, and V all travel: approve an emergency repair or check cash position from the floor or the road.
