TimeSentry: AI timesheets & financial intelligence for firms that bill by the hour

TimeSentry composes accurate, billable timesheets from the work professionals already do, reading Gmail, calendar, and tools like Clio so no billable minute slips through. On top of the time layer sits real financial intelligence: invoices, income statements, a 13-week cash forecast, and utilization. Built for law firms, creative agencies, and other service firms, it was engineered end to end by TechBrig: the AI and data-ingestion pipeline, the automation workflows, and a scalable data model for time, tasks, projects, and finances, across web, mobile, and desktop.

Background

Billing by the hour means every unlogged minute is money lost

For law firms, creative agencies, and other service firms, timekeeping is how you get paid, and it's the task everyone hates. Entries get reconstructed from memory days later, minutes go unlogged, and billable hours quietly leak away. Meanwhile the firm has no live picture of what any of it means for revenue, cash, or utilization.

TimeSentry, led by founder Joseph Frantz, set out to fix both halves: capture time automatically and accurately, then turn it into financial intelligence. Its promise is simple: "your time, kept intelligently". No timers, no forms, accurate to the minute. TechBrig came on as the technical and design partner to build it: the AI, the data pipeline, the data model, and the cross-platform apps.

The challenges

Turning scattered activity into defensible, billable time

01

Billable time slips away

Reconstructing the day from memory misses real hours, and every missed six-minute increment is money the firm never bills.

02

The work lives everywhere

A professional's day is spread across email, calendar, calls, matters, and documents. No single place captures it.

03

Time isn't money without a finance layer

Raw hours don't tell you revenue, cash position, or utilization. The data had to roll all the way up to invoices and financial statements.

04

It had to be everywhere the work is

At the desk, on the road, on a call, which meant one product across web, mobile, and desktop, on shared data.

Our solution

AI that turns activity into billable time, and time into intelligence

We built TimeSentry around one idea: pull every signal of the day's work into a single data model, let AI draft the timesheet, and roll the same records straight up into billing and the firm's finances.

AI-generated timesheets: no timers, no forms

The data-ingestion pipeline continuously reads email, calendar events, timers, and tools like Clio. Automation workflows draft time entries with a confidence score, match each to the right client and matter, and flag them for review, so a professional approves their day in seconds instead of rebuilding it from memory.

One data model: time, tasks, projects & finances

Under it all is a scalable data model we designed so a single time entry is also an accounting event. That's what lets TimeSentry go beyond tracking: the same records power billing, invoices, and the firm's financial statements.

How TimeSentry works: sources feed one data model, AI drafts and matches the time, and it rolls up into financial intelligence, then syncs back out to QuickBooks and Clio.

Financial intelligence on top of the time

Because time and money share a model, TimeSentry produces real financials: an income statement across retainers, projects, and production, and a 13-week cash forecast built from bank balance, open AR, open AP, and scheduled disbursements. Firm owners finally see what the hours actually mean.

Utilization & revenue analytics

An analytics layer tracks utilization against target, billable vs. capacity, and hours logged vs. budget, by client and by employee, so leadership can spot over- and under-utilized teams and clients running past budget at a glance.

Works where your firm already works

TimeSentry plugs into the tools a firm already runs: Gmail and Outlook, Google Calendar, Clio for matters, and QuickBooks for the books, so time, billing, and accounting stay in sync without manual re-entry.

Web, mobile and desktop

Professionals aren't tied to a desk, so TimeSentry ships across web, mobile, and desktop on one shared data model. The native mobile app captures time on the move: start a timer, log a call, or accept an AI-suggested entry between meetings.
